Rain reminds me of so many things...
It takes me back to my nostalgia.
My childhood days,
in dark clouds hunting for rays!

It reminds me of my loneliness or my company with myself...
Ir reminds me of the fight and how i broke the self made shell.
It reminds me of my thoughts occupied with my love of life,
of football match and me missing every outside catch.

I was a child then, I am a child now.
Don’t know the reason but i don’t want to change somehow.
though i am growing, i have to be mature,
but m not gonna lose the child in me for sure!

When rain can be the same....friends with water drops forever.
Then why me growing up should be the reason to be mature ever?
I being rain, and drops being my soul,
We were together then,
then y shud we part nw....this is not fair in the game of human lives somehow.
When nature could be the same,
same trust, same name....
then what on earth compels us to change?
Perhaps the competing range!
But in the race to be ahead, we leave our own self behind, and try to live in someone else’s body, someone else’s mind.
But enough...
today i realised
that m nevergonna lose maself....
coz i am n love maself fr d same!!!!!

That was the time when I was free, was fearless...
But then I conceived all my worries
But soon i will be aborted.
n i will be light
Light enough to light the darkness in ma own self!!!

How alien I am in my own land I realized
It seems I forgot the genuineness in human beings
But today in my mind it got revised.

Went to a village, I don’t know the reason why
The cool fresh air hugging me
That I so much wanted to fly

This was entirely a new image for me
Here I was, what I wanted to be.
No people going gaga over brand names,
No one running for billionaire fame!
People engrossed in their work, children playing in sand
Their small feet dumped in muddy puddle,
But supporting each other with their small delicate hands!

How happy and excited they got,
The moment they saw me…
This was one emotion I was looking in my loved ones
But just couldn’t see.

Though the hut was small and the things were scattered
But the way that women held the family together…
I was simply flattered!

No matter how advanced we are
But still they are ahead
We are almost dead, in process to be alive
But they are alive, though their destiny seems dead!

I just walked down the road,
On my shoulders I felt the heavy load
Not of the responsibilities I have
But it felt as if in my happiness something was sad!

Though I have a big family,
But no one knows who is who?
Here I saw the entire village as one family
With a firm bond of love and care, as their glue.

I was zapped and was awe struck
With the humanity that still existed.
Whereas ‘we’ in the race to achieve our materialistic dreams
Always ran away from it… always resisted.

Just a single visit, taught me so much
That I started thinking myself as illiterate
But to me, these villagers became the noble laureates.

We were never the same; hardly we knew each other’s name
But don’t know how it happened, and I don’t know where are we now.
But at times I feel crazy, and question myself how...
Why it seems the bond is getting stronger,
And that this is not mundane ness any longer.

Why it seems that every song you sing is for me,
Everything you say is a last word for me!
Though your lips are numb, your eyes convey a lot
Am all frozen and you are melting me with the heat so hot.

We laugh and we fight,
The time flies by!
It makes me think if life is so easy with you
Or it’s just the initial phase of the sorrow.

I just have no clues what is this bond,
Perhaps I don’t want to give it a name
And wants it to be just the same.
…………………………………………………………………….
But it seems that the reality is something else
That we can never be together
It’s not a lovebird, but just a feather!
It’s an illusion, and we have separate paths to go on
Your destination is near whereas mine is not even clear.

I think this is the best companionship we shared
But we need to hug the reality as well…
Though am not saying that this is our final farewell,
But you never know, what this destiny holds,
This can never be felt, nor can be told.
………………………………………………………………………
So, just close your eyes and see
That’s what you gonna be
New bonds will be made
These memories may fade
But future is yours, you will be the king
And then chose your partner with a kiss and a ring!!!

I so much wanted to hold you tight just now
I was just looking for the reason how...
I so much wanted to kiss you and be with you forever
and wanted our life to end never.
I so much wanted to sit with you and make you listen to my heart
But I was just wondering from where to start?
I so much wanted you to tell me ..
Somethings you mean, somethings you feel.

But that one second...it just changed all my thoughts
In my flooded love, there came an unexpected draught.
You looked at me, as if I don’t exsist
and I was forced to think what I never wanted to think.

I seriously wondered if love was ever meant for me
or this is how it is supposed be...
That for one moment you want to jump and sit on the cloud, and then echoes the sound of your fall so loud.

The reason may be that I aimed for greater height
Neither I want to cry nor I want to fight
So finally am back, in my dillema
that will I ever get thelove I deserve, if at all
or is it pre destined for me to fall..

To fall in love, just to know
that the other person is gone.
Perhaps , who was never there
and all that exsisted was his illusion and the minds with confusion.

So, once again am back in my puddle where I was,
But the difference being
Then I was the dirty water dro
and now I am the lotus.

November 14, celebrated as children’s day every year is a way of paying a tribute to Chacha Nehru. ‘Children’ …the word itself holds synonyms like innocence, delicacy, playfulness and all loving tenderly words for them.
Though India still celebrates the day every year, but the question here arises is that how many ‘children’ in real sense celebrate this day or any day of their life for that matter? Schools organize events and activities that their students thoroughly enjoy, but there is an entire populace of young ones that are left ignored on this special day – the downtrodden street children, children who are below poverty line and many other such ignored strata of society. With their entire childhood being lost in construction sites or the small-scale industries, their tiny hands are not just made for this.
Even a little scratch to our own kids makes us to rush them to doctors or put a band-aid. But this doesn’t mean that we have to act really insensitive towards someone else’s kid who also feels the pain. On one hand we see parents buying all expensive gifts for their kids, on the other hand we cannot ignore how many children are dying of hunger every minute.
On this children’s day itself more than 3 lakh children died of hunger globally. What kind of justice is being done to these little souls? It’s a very common statement of people that they can’t do much about the children in other corners of the world. But what exactly are they doing for the children of their area? Child labor still exists in spite the fact that the government has made efforts to prohibit child labor by enacting Child labor laws in India including the 1986 Child Labor (Prohibition and Regulation) Act. It states that children under fourteen years of age could not be employed in hazardous occupations.
According to UNICEF,there are an estimated 218 million children aged 5 to 17 in child labor worldwide, excluding child domestic labor. So how this childrens day actually made any difference in the lives of these million of children who according to Pt Nehru, are the ‘future’ of nation?
When the future itself is dying today, what kind of global development do we talk about?
Celebrating Children’s Day is about giving children the right to enjoy and grow into healthy and educated citizens of the country. It should not be just limited up to your own domain. If you can teach your child the value of sharing with others what they are lucky to have, then not only your child will grow into a responsible human being, but also another child who otherwise could have ended up being a delinquent, will have a difference in their life.
Thus, belonging to the educated strata of society, I think we all should take an initiative of revolutionizing at least life of one child around us, who is not as privileged as we are.
So maybe by next children’s day we may have a new generation of children who are capable of transforming their own children’s world!

“ Oh god, there is so much sugar”, “ I think that tea is so strong. I don’t want to sip this”…This is the conversation we usually have, while sitting at small teashop near our college. But today with just one sip of that tea, I pressed ‘rewind’ button of my life. With all criticisms echoing around me, I was completely nostalgic in some other world.
That sip reminded me of the first ever tea I prepared for my dad. Being an excellent cook, he had some expectations out of his daughter (who perhaps never has been interested in cooking. Rather that’s why I was so sure to marry a chef!)
But somehow he managed to teach me how to prepare tea. One fine morning he woke me up and asked me to make morning tea for him. Half asleep, I went to kitchen, cursing my fate that why did I grew up and why am I a girl and all such crazy thoughts coming to my half dead mind. I made some light brown hot drink with unproportionate blend of milk and water, with no clues about how would it taste. I made some extra tea, which I kept in vessel only
My dad doesn’t like tea being served in a cup. He loves being served in small transparent glass .So I kept the glass on tray and went to verandah. He took a sip, and blessed me .He praised to the core and said that every morning now I will only prepare tea for him. I was cursing my fate that why did I made good tea. But then suddenly it striked me, that little extra tea is still kept in the vessel. So I thought if he is praising it so much, why not go and have a sip of the leftover tea. Oh god…. that was the biggest disaster of the day. How could anyone praise of such a bitter tea with no taste of sugar.
With days passing by, I developed the habit to taste the tea I made for my dad. Sometimes it was good as my mom, other time, it was pathetic. If anyone else had been there, he would have puked surely. But dad always appreciated (rather now, its definitely worth appreciating!) with little suggestions like ‘chai patti would have been little less’ and things like that. But with a smiling face, he used to gulp the entire thing.
Sitting at that place only, it reminded me that no matter what, parents are always so patient, accepting and encouraging their children at every level. But if this tea shop guy makes any little mistake, we make his life hell…After all he is also the child of some one.How fair is it on our part?
Even if we are not the parent and he is not our child, but definitely, I think human emotions and tolerance should still be the same!

Statement by WTO: “Prepare your people for globalization”….

What is the actual meaning of this word globalization? Is it to expand your global connectivity in terms of just economy and politics or is it to equally contribute in the betterment of completely ignored yet basic section of the society i.e. rural sector?
On one hand where we boast about the fact that in the last 10 years, the world’s total income has increased by average of 2.5 % a year, on the same hand, we cannot avoid the fact that even the number of poor in the world has also increased by 10 million. It means that top 1% of the world has the same combined income as the bottom 57% and this disparity is still growing.
New development projects coming up every other day gives us the reason to ignore the fact that though we are moving ahead in technology, but we are also ignoring that privatization and labor reforms which are pushing people off their lands and out of their jobs, and hence worsening their already bad state! From last 50 years in India, alone big dams have displaced more than 33 million people.
It’s so easy to imagine the elite journeys of the people in all corners of the world but it’s equally difficult to imagine the state of plight of those people who cannot even go back to their respective village homes form the place where they have come to earn minimum meals.
Yes, surely we are getting globalized and perhaps that’s the reason that even our heroes and role models are changing. There used be the time when a military man was what every child aspired to be. But today, Bill Gates is the role model. Though nothing is bad or wrong in it, but one should always keep a fine balance between reality and virtual world. We cannot just escape from the real composition of India, which consists of farmers and agricultural laborers.
Perhaps even after 60 years of independence, there is still so much to be worked upon. Just getting independence is not enough. Is every individual of our nation independent to think on his own and stand by the fact that he is correct? If we talk about the freedom of expression and right to speech, is it being implied in every corner of our country? Is every person independent in real sense, independent enough to fight for his own rights confidently? The answer is ‘no’ and yet we are so much busy to fight for nuclear deal just to be called as ‘globalised’.
What is the reason to put the fake mask of modernization on our ‘Indian’ faces? Just look at today’s youth who just feel so degraded if he has to talk in Hindi at some public place. Gone are the days when people used to go to mandir’s and religious places on their birthdays. Today’s discotheques, booze parties are the ways to enjoy any event, without which it is a source of embarrassment in front of their friends. They want to have the’ cool’ tag 24X 7.
Youth today is becoming the dictator. Be it in their personal context or the professional, they want to be the ruler of their own world. Although this kind of confidence and dynamism is really good but along with it they should try to remain grounded irrespective of their achievements. Perhaps that’s the reason why even free press, free elections, and independent judiciary also holds little meaning because every thing today is being equally commercialized and hence every thing is becoming a commodity. There is just no place for emotions and sentiments. One has to deal practically in every aspect of life, as per our so called as ‘modern’ society demand of!
We are spending crores of rupees for peace treaties, so as to maintain healthy relationships with other countries. But have we ever given a thought that how much is being spend on the majority of people who are fighting a war against hunger thirst, violation of their dignity? It’s a daily battle where sacrificial victims are being small the children who are dying of hunger or the poor farmers who are committing suicides and hence the complete rural structure of our nation who’s being effected.
Thus no matter how much globalised or modernized we may become, but Indian spirit has to be kept alive. There are still many people who are who are working from dawn till dusk so as to see our country progressing and if each one of us contribute just 2% of our heart and soul, we can make a difference in ‘today’ and bright ‘ tomorrow’.

India is now a country where stock market has crossed 19000 points, where inflation is under control, where we are achieving the economic stability…but still another part of this reality is one in every two children under three years of age is hungry.
One fine day, there happens to be media coverage of some village showing the poverty, hunger, and malnutritioned children. Then next morning, in newspaper we see one politician posing with these people, with we as readers thinking whether this is a genuine concern or another PR skill.
So to eradicate these basic grass root troubles, still no apt solution has been achieved. Though out of few plans being adopted to find a solution, ‘anganwadi’was one! The main aim was to provide children with at least one good meal. But along with this good social effort, another thing that cannot be escaped unseen is the fact that there is no assurance that after this one healthy meal, they would get another meal for the day or not. In country like India, it is very much possible for those children to sleep empty stomach after that one meal of the day.
Many villages are coming up with the trend of self-help groups to empower women. But again there happens to be no fruitful consequence of saving this money. Their husbands will grasp the money, get drunk and make life more miserable.
Small hands working in factories day and night to get earn another meal of the day. So what is the end to all this. Its really easy to say that population will soon be under control. But it is equally difficult to convince the people for the same since; children are the biggest assets to them. They prefer to produce more children rather than dying of hunger.
And why not? They are also quite justified with the living conditions they are in!
No matter how high the sensex is reaching. It seems that misrability rate in Indian villages is still higher.
The United Nations’ Food & Agriculture Organization put it simply in 2006 that its State of Food Insecurity in the World report confirmed yet again that we have the largest number of undernourished people in the globe. The 2004 edition of the report has shown that India had added more people to the ‘newly hungry’ in the planet than the rest of the world together. There, too, nations much worse off had done far better. Between the years 1995-97 and 2000-02, hunger grew in India at a time when it fell in Ethiopia.
So looking at these ground realities and not just ‘overlooking’ them and celebrating our success stories at international level, I think it’s a high time of excusing ourselves.
Out of 365 days, just imagine how many times, do we eat at McDonalds, Pizza Huts, and Café Coffee Days. But its really thought provoking if we imagine to step in the shoes of those people who spend equal number of days finding food in the scraps we throw in the bin.
Therefore it’s still a long way to go. ‘Healthy meal’ is still a dream to be achieved for many Indians who are working day and night to fill our stomachs. So the fact that should not be forgotten is that even farmers and their families are human beings, they too feel hungry and even they deserve their basic minimum needs to be fulfilled.
Rather than spending all the energy and attention on all other issues of the world, our ‘real heroes (farmers)’ too demand little bit of attention and definitely deserve good health of their share!

A loud sound and I looked up in the sky
Oh..that’s another plane!
All of them look just the same
Or like me, may be they also have their own name.

Who all must be sitting inside?
Are they able to see me?
I am waving them goodbye
But the plane is so damn high

Its good, they will just be able to see my face
And not my torn knickers or naked feet
Or else, those rich people will make fun of me
But sounding so sweet.

How I wish, I could see the plane from inside
Oh... that will be my dreamy ride!
I will touch the stars,
I will feel the sky
Then I will tease my friends, who every time make me cry.

Maybe there’s a lawn inside
And small rooms like in my home
Maybe there’s a smooth bed
And a table with cute phone.

But I wonder how come in night, the lights are on...
Where are the wires, what is its electricity zone?
Someone from ground here, switch on the light it seems...
And light travels in transparent wire,
Which must of the colour of polythene.

Well...that’s what I think of it
But who can tell me, what is the reality?
Here everyone is like me, with no idea of it
But they have weird reality
To them dreams are no realities...rather fake virtualities

I say I’ll fly the plane; rather I’ll make my ‘ma’ sit inside
They say we don’t deserve this pride
Why not, is this the reason they send me to school?
I study, I work and I am not a fool!

‘Ma’ works day and night,
So that I may rise
So why should I compromise?

Every morning with the sound of this plane I rise,
Realizing my dream to fly,
To feel the comfort of sitting inside
And showing it to all present here,
That life is worth dreaming and making your dreams come true.
No matter what may you are going through!

A streaky lightening in the sky above
Reminds me of your hidden love
Which I saw in your eyes, but soon it just vanished by!
The rain is making me wet
As if you are pouring your love upon me.
And I am surrendering my body and soul
To you my man, allowing you all.
The only thing that differs today is my faith,
Which won’t change ever, no matter
if it’s sun, rainbow or dark clouds
You’ll always be my reason to feel proud!
